Making of a mother – part 13

We are getting down to the wire here at 38 weeks.  One week from tomorrow until the scheduled C-section.  Nothing happening so far to indicate that the little one is heading into the world early, but who knows what this week will hold.

We decided to go highbrow on the belly pics this week.  No mere snapshots for us.  I was keen to play with my new camera and test out how different lenses worked in certain situations. We battled the harsh sun a bit this morning, and my intuition on which lens would work best wasn’t always right, but we came out with what I think are some great pictures.  You can see the best of them in a set on our Flickr page with our favorites here (click to enlarge):

Making of a mother – part 12

We are definitely hitting the home stretch now.  These are from week 37 and the C-section is scheduled for the beginning of week 39.  We took these outside in the fading evening light with a japanese maple in the background.

Making of a mother – part 12

Well, I’m finally caught up on this series.  These are week 36 photos that I took yesterday.  I played around with my new camera and actually took some photos in the daylight hours.  Some of my experimenting worked out and some didn’t, but here’s the progress on the belly:

Making of a mother – part 10

Beth’s belly just keeps growing and growing.  Sometimes she swears that it gets noticeably bigger overnight.  It is actually tough to gauge when you see it everyday.  These once weekly pics help with that.  This is from week 34:

Unfortunately, we always think to do these pictures at night, so they turn out grainy and Beth’s eyes always look red. Normally, they are only red when I make her angry.

These are from week 33:

Only one picture this time, from week 32.  This picture is such a perfect shot of a perfectly round belly that it had to stand alone:

Making of a mother – part 6

We skipped a few weeks on ultrasounds, and we skipped a few on pregnancy pics as well.  We must have been busy.  Here are pictures from week 29:
